Whispered interpreting with or without translation equipment

Chuchotage or whispered interpreting

When you need an interpreter for a factory visit, a cultural site, staff training,…

Whispered or elbow interpreting is actually simultaneous translation, with or without equipment. In this situation, the interpreters are not isolated in a soundproof booth.

Without equipment

The interpreter stands close to the participant who does not understand the language spoken, and “whispers” the translation into his/her ear.

With equipment

Interpreting with tour guide equipment is in fact simultaneous interpreting.
